Bichectomy (a.k.a Hollywood Cheek) is an aesthetic surgical procedure that removes the buccal fat, resulting in prominent cheekbones, a better-defined jaw, and an overall slimmer face. Patient achieves traditional golden ratio V shape face form after the surgery.

1 cm long incisions are cut inside the cheeks to remove the fat.

There are no visible scars on the face after bichectomy. Because all the incisions are made in the inner cheek. The surgeon will place pressure on the outside of the cheek, exposing the buccal fat pad. The fat is cut away and carefully removed, and the wound is then sealed with absorbable sutures. Keeping the face symmetry is the fundamental of bichectomy.

Generally bichectomy is performed under local anesthesia, but sedation or general anesthesia may occur upon the patient’s request.

WHO ARE THE RIGHT CANDIDATES FOR BICHECTOMY?

People between mid 20‘s to mid 30‘s are the best candidates for bichectomy. Bichectomy procedure is used to slim square or round faces, so people with slim faces are not the right candidates for the procedure. Bichectomy cannot be performed on adolescent, as they are still growing into their adult features. Bichectomy may be suitable for senior patients either. Because facial fat is lost as a results of aging.

No filling and implants are used during the bichectomy, so the procedure provides a smooth and natural look. No scars are visible after bichectomy. Recovery period of bichectomy is faster compared to other procedures.

There are no great risks in bichectomy. Patients must keep up oral hygiene to prevent any infection.

RECOVERY AFTER BICHECTOMY

Keeping up the oral hygiene is the most important part of the recovery period. Patients will be provided with a special mouthwash to prevent infection.The patient should only consume liquid food for the first few days, and continue with the soft food (Soup and puree).  Food can not be hot. Wounds usually heal within two weeks, complete healing occurs in 3 three weeks. The patient should avoid alcohol and cigarette consumption after bichectomy procedure.

IS BICHECTOMY PERMANENT?

Yes, buccal fat removal with bichectomy is a permanent method.

CAN BICHECTOMY BE DONE WITH OTHER PROCEDURES?

Yes, Bichectomy can be done with other face procedures.

COSTS

Cost of the operation is determined after the consultation and the analysis. Sometimes
